Festival parade set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1

The 15th annual Pecan Harvest Festival parade will begin Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at 10 a.m. Parade units will line up at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of Whiteville High School. Community and service organizations may participate free of charge. Queens will be charged a fee of $25.

Parade Marshall will be Mr. Bill Thompson, and will be joined by Pecan Harvest Festival Celebrity Queen.

Area high school bands will be invited to participate again this year.

The parade route will leave the high school crossing Lee Street to Smith Street, proceed south on Madison Street, past the N.C. Museum of Forestry and turn West on Virgil Street at Whiteville Florist.
